The DYN500 plug-in emulates all the desirable qualities of a professional analogue channel compressor, taming dynamics without restricting the natural character of a mix or performance. Styled as a virtual 500-series module, the DYN500 provides soft-knee compression coupled with a gentle tape-saturation overdrive for warmth and character at high signal levels. Just like the best analogue gear, the harder you hit it, the better it sounds. Designed as a ‘one in every channel’ compressor / dynamics plug-in, the DYN500 can be used in mono or stereo channels, delivering professional console grade processing, with efficient use of CPU and system resources. More efficient use of CPU resources allows more plug-in instances in a typical audio workstation project.

Inspired by the legendary smooth, effortless dynamic control and uniquely musical character of the classic Fairchild 670 limiter, the FC70 tames dynamics without robbing the mix of power and detail. The FC70 uses state of the art processing to emulate a fully balanced transformer-coupled signal path, combined with an innovative delay-free feedback algorithm which accurately mirrors equivalent analogue behaviour. In addition, the sidechain includes fast attack and program dependent release settings, combined with Lateral / Vertical, Independent and Linked stereo channel modes.
Emulating the classic vintage Pultec MEQ-5 mid-range EQ, the PTM-5A replicates the sought-after passive filter character of the original, providing a versatile equalizer capable of subtle sonic enhancement or adding more obvious bite to the mid-range to help elements of the mix stand out. Ideal for acoustic instruments, drums and vocals, the PTM-5A perfectly complements the more familiar PTC-2A vintage Pultec EQ, much the same as the hardware MEQ-5 and EQP-1A units.

Want to add a ring mod to the low end, a mild tube clip to the mids, and a bit-reduction algorithm to the high end? No problem. Want to run your signal through three sine-warps or fuzz algorithms in series? This is your box. Kombinat’s signal structure allows for a fairly broad palette of sounds, as each segment of the overall effect is a versatile tool in its own right. On the front end is a full “DJ-style” band-killer EQ; this leads to the three distortion engines, which may be used in multi-band mode for subtle surgery, or in series mode for complete signal destruction. The engines lead to a multi-mode filter with 12 different topologies, and then on to a compressor which we have configured for one-control operation.
